Engine & Turbo Airflow Calculator

Model boost, compressor outlet temperature, and airflow across the RPM range to estimate power and torque before anything is built — the same volumetric-efficiency and isentropic compression relations we use to size intakes, manifolds, and intercoolers.

RPM points

RPMSweep from idle/boost onset to redline, e.g. 2,000-7,000 rpm in ~1,000 rpm steps.VE %Typical NA: 75-95%. Boosted engines can exceed 100% due to forced induction.BoostStreet: 6-15 psi (0.4-1.0 bar). Race: 15-30+ psi (1.0-2.0+ bar).Comp eff %Typical centrifugal compressor: 60-80%, peaking near the map's efficiency island center.AFRGasoline stoichiometric: 14.7. Boosted power mixtures typically run rich: 11.0-12.5.BSFCGasoline: 0.40-0.55 lb/hp-hr (245-335 g/kWh); richer, higher-boost points run higher.

This estimator uses ideal-gas volumetric-efficiency airflow, isentropic compression with an efficiency correction for compressor outlet temperature, and BSFC-derived power/torque — the same relations used to size intakes, manifolds, and intercoolers. For turbo selection, plot each row's pressure ratio against corrected flow (mass flow referenced to standard 60°F / 14.7psi compressor-inlet conditions) on a candidate compressor's map — if every point sits inside the efficiency islands across your RPM range, it's a viable match. This tool doesn't use compressor or turbine map data itself, so treat it as a sizing estimate, not a substitute for a real dyno pull or the manufacturer's published map.

Turning these numbers into a real intake or manifold? Let's scope it.
